Dylan Interview

Interview with Dylan
Dylan has Down syndrome. He is a slower learner than other students his age. He has fun spending time with his grandparents. His grandmother answered his interview questions. She knows all about Dylan. Dylan was in his first year of middle school when she answered his interview questions.

Q: What’s your favorite?
Food-Goodcents subs and spaghetti, Pumpkin Pie with whip cream and Chocolate Cake
Book - doesn’t have a favorite
Game -Loves playing on his i-pad using talking Tom 2 app, Minecraft app, and the monster truck arena race app. Likes to run his remote-control car in the yard and play Hot Wheels daredevil game. Likes playing with his many stuffed animals. 
Color - Blue 
Sport -Loves to dance and jump on his trampoline. Learning to ride his bike.
Animal -Loves his boxer therapy dog “Zar” 
Place to go -Likes to visit the Library and go to the movies. 
Favorite thing to do:  Likes to watch Funny kid’s videos and steam engine videos. Loves to play in his Pa’s barn and ride his 4-Wheeler. Likes to cook. Likes to help in the yard by raking and mowing with supervision.   

Q: How old were you in your book? 
A: About 5 years old. 

Q: What’s it like to be in a book? 
A: He says “Cool that’s me when I was little”

Q: What’s it like having a different ability? 
A:  Truth is it’s rather lonely when you turn 12. It is hard to make friends my age in middle school. I
am thankful for my wonderful family, they all really love and support me.   

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up? 
A: A good person and help others. 

Q: What do you wish others understood or knew about you? 
A: Dylan wishes people would just be kind, accepting and patient of people with Down syndrome. Dylan is very social and introduces himself to people he does not know. He absolutely loves little babies and will greet them whenever he sees them.

When Dylan was in 4th grade he started a business with his mom. They made dog biscuits to sell to friends. Dylan wanted to do this because he loves his dog and loves cooking with his mom.
