Cooper Interview

Interview with Cooper
We have different questions in Cooper’s interview because we recently interviewed him as we worked on writing his story. Cooper was seven years old and beginning 2nd grade when his story was photographed.

Cooper has arthrogryposis and TAR syndrome. He’s had many surgeries and a lot of therapy to help him move his joints so he can walk and use his arms. Last year he had leg surgery and spent seven months in a wheelchair before he could walk again. We planned his book around his surgeries so he could show all that he is able to do with his family as they take care of their sheep.

We asked Cooper about different animals and people in his story. This is what he shared:

Dog- Our dog is named Lucie. She has a cute face.
Puppy- They are babies and one foot tall.
Favorite animal- monkeys because they’re crazy
Lambs- They’re cute, some are boys and some are girls.
Kittens- They’re playful. Girl kittens are beautiful. Boy kittens are handsome. I’m handsome.
Caterpillar- They eat leaves a lot. They get hungry, crinkle up and move out.
Dad- He’s handsome. He loves Weston and me a lot. He’s hard working.
Weston- He’s a good brother and takes care of me. I have ‘loveness’ for him, caring.
Mom- I like how she smiles and how she helps others. She helps Weston and me. She’s beautiful and kind.
